Student Life and Campus Contribution (CVEC)

Article L841-5-1 of the Student Orientation and Success Act provides for the payment of the CVEC.

The purpose of this contribution is to promote social, health, cultural and sporting support for students.

Who has to pay?

All French and foreign students enrolling for initial training at a French university must pay this compulsory fee before they can register with their university. You will then be issued with a certificate number.

This contribution does not apply to vocational training trainees or international exchange students in France.

How much?

The amount of the CVEC is €100 for 2023/2024.
Students on CROUS grants will be automatically exempt.

How do you pay?

You can complete this form on a dedicated website: https://cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr

Finalise your registration

Les inscriptions administratives débutent le 29 juin 2023

Before registering at the university, you must pay the CVEC (except for vocational training trainees and international exchange students in France).

If your selection was conditional on obtaining your current year's degree, don't forget to also send a copy of your degree certificate to the Registrar's Office.
Don't forget to confirm your attendance (via APOFLUX). You will then be able to register 24 hours after you have confirmed.

Registration takes place in 3 stages:

Step 1 - Administrative registration

You can register online on the Université de Bordeaux website:

Step 2: Submitting supporting documents

You must submit your supporting documents here: https://apogee.u-bordeaux.fr/AuthEtudiantUb/index_nocas.php?app=pjweb

Please provide supporting documents before the start of the school year at the latest.

Step 3 - Collect your student card and certificate of attendance

On the first day of term, you can go to the Registrar's Office to complete your administrative registration.

Once your application has been checked, the Registrar's Office will give you your student card and your certificate of enrolment.

If you were already registered at the University of Bordeaux in previous years, you will keep your old card, on which we will place the new hologram for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Social security

The student social security system will be phased out from the start of the 2018 academic year.

The management of affiliations will be transferred to the general health insurance scheme (CPAM).

You no longer have to register with the university, so you no longer have to pay any fees.

  • 1st case: you already have student social security (a mutuelle étudiante): you keep it for this year. Contact your agency to find out how to renew your cover for 2018-2019.
  • 2nd case: You are a new student: you remain affiliated to your parents' social security.
  • Case 3: You are a new foreign student: you must contact the CPAM closest to your place of residence in France.
