The Institut des Sciences Moléculaires (ISM) brings together a community of organic and physical-chemical researchers interested in molecular structures, working on their design, synthesis, characterisation, reactivity and analysis in various environments.
The ISM is a CNRS/University of Bordeaux/Bordeaux INP Aquitaine Joint Research Unit (ISM, UMR 5255 CNRS) reporting to the Aquitaine Regional Delegation (DR 15).
The Institute's expertise is based on a number of key skills, including
- theorists in quantum chemistry and molecular and reaction dynamics,
- synthetic organic chemists
- experimental physicochemists (spectroscopy, photochemistry, molecular recognition and analysis),
This multi-disciplinary range of skills enables research projects to be developed on cross-disciplinary themes within the Institute: surfaces, interfaces and materials, nanosciences, green chemistry and catalysis, natural and bioactive molecules, modelling.
